- Developing and maintaining a current knowledge of the power sector in Morocco and the wider Northern Africa region, mapping of competitors, potential partners, key stakeholders and regulatory evolutions in the region;
- Pro-actively carrying out prospection, screening/evaluating and proposing opportunities;
- Assessing project feasibility, preparing and presenting the project file and related documentation to the relevant decision bodies within ENGIE for securing approvals in line with the investment criteria and internal business development procedures;
- Contributing to develop a successful bid/proposal strategy;
- Leading a project team and managing all development activities performed by internal and external resources until the financial closing and the handover to the construction team;
- Leading negotiations of all project agreements (JDA, SHA, PPA, EPC and supply contracts, Finance Documentation, etc.);
- Leading negotiations with clients, partners, contractors, external advisors, lenders, and other counterparts;
- Establishing and maintaining contacts with decision makers and other relevant stakeholders in the industry;
- Ensuring compliance with prevailing business development procedures and contributing to a smooth approval process: drafting, or coordinating the draft of, internal project documentation (project assumptions, investment note, compliance memos…) and organizing and leading project reviews, bid sign-off, return on experience, handover, …
- 8-12 years of relevant working experience within the power generation industry;
- 4-6 years of business development experience, with demonstrable track record in the development and implementation of non-recourse financed IPPs;
- Previous experience in the energy sector in Northern Africa preferred;
- Knowledge of renewable power technologies in particular utility-scale wind and solar PV;
- Contract negotiations skills, including negotiating partnership agreements, offtake agreements, EPC agreements and various transaction agreements;
- Result-oriented, energy and drive to meet personal objectives, with an open, transparent style and flexible approach;
- Ability to work within tight timelines and to affirm project leadership;
- International, multicultural and multidisciplinary experience;
- Strong intellectual capacity and able to deal with complexity;
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, and other soft skills including mentoring, being a team player, ability to work with diverse experts and seek consensus;
- Presence and interpersonal credibility to represent ENGIE in contacts with key stakeholders, JV partners, external organizations and/or bodies and other stakeholders;
- Utmost ethical standards.
