- Provision of quality legal support for Oracle's commercial and R&D interests in the region, representing Oracle's wider Corporate interests
- Work with Regional and Global Commercial and Compliance Legal teams to implement the Oracle policies as well as the Compliance and Ethics program in the region
- Identify and evaluate concerns and areas of risk and work with corporate and Legal teams to address
- Provide transactional support to the business, including drafting, vetting, and negotiating major/non-standard agreements.
- Respond to ad-hoc queries, providing appropriate solutions
- Negotiate commercial contracts and draft non-standard contractual provisions.
- Close liaison with the Deal Management organization
- Develop and maintain relationships with external lawyers
- Independent handling of major tasks, business, and improvement projects
- Implementing and providing training on legal policies, compliance and ethics policies, and business practices
- Handling of compliance investigations as may be required
- Management of disputes/litigation
- Corporate housekeeping/company secretarial duties; may be required to act as “Gerant” for legal entities in Morocco.
- Develop an understanding of Oracle´s products and services
- Perform all other tasks that are appropriate for and required by an in-house company lawyer and as required by the Manager;
- Measured by Corporate performance standards.
- Fluency in English, French, and Arabic
- High-level legal drafting skills (English and French)
- Integrity and commitment to the highest ethical standards and personal values
- Commercial negotiation experience, ideally in the IT or other hi-tech industry
- Experience in license/Cloud/partnership agreements, general commercial law, RFPs, general corporate matters, and intellectual property, is strongly preferred
- Superior written and oral communication skills with an ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels of the organization
- Practical and creative thinking and problem-solving
- Excellent judgment and the capacity to make decisions and give advice that demonstrates an understanding of the risks of each situation
- Ability to perform under pressure
- Willingness to travel in the region as required
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Law degree and professional qualification. 12 years and above relevant experience.
- Experience as in-house counsel with compliance-related responsibilities is a plus
- Previous experience in the industry is preferred.
