- Reception, processing, and classification of requests for analysis
- Handling of samples to be analyzed: storage, conditioning, preparation, etc.
- Independently perform hands-on experimental work utilizing ICP instruments and prepare reagents, solutions, and standards as required.
- Develop, validate, and document analytical methods and operating procedures according to specific sample or testing requirements, and maintain quality control records to ensure efficient lab process management.
- Oversee and conduct routine performance qualification of all ICPs instruments platform and ensure traceability of experiments.
- Provide expert advice and essential recommendations based on acquired knowledge.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedule for sample introduction, Torch, and MS Detectors or ICP-OES instrument.
- Provide the central warehouse with the necessary consumables and spare parts for scheduled maintenance.
- Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks to prevent equipment breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
- Execute functional tests, calibration, and tuning to uphold equipment precision.
- Generate comprehensive analysis reports, and interpretation and prepare well-written technical and scientific reports.
- Organize and archive data.
- Support researchers (Professors, PhDs, Post-Docs, and Scientists) and boost their research activities in the best conditions by making an excellent analysis and expertise service by different heavy techniques.
- Ensure strict compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Participate and organize training and workshop programs on ICP analysis techniques for fellow researchers.
- Collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment.
- Active involvement in various department activities.
- Participate in the supply and stock management of the analytical chemistry division consumables.
- Participate in the platform certification process (ISO17025).
- Master/Engineer or PhD degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in chemical Sciences, or a related field.
- Significant experience in ICP-OES, ICPMS method development, and qualification will be given preference.
- Proficiency in handling heavy equipment for analytical chemical characterization.
- Strong collaborative skills, adept problem-solving abilities, and a proven record of teamwork.
- Experience in the user maintenance of analytical instruments, in particular Auto-sampler, sample introduction, Torch, and MS Detectors.
- Familiarity with lab safety protocols and regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills (time and priority management)
- Excellent communication skills (French and English).
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task without compromising quality and accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
